About Carl Shipman
Carl Shipman is a British professional skateboarder from Worksop, England and one of the most influential UK skaters of all time. Emerging from the Northern England scene in the early '90s, he turned pro for Flip (then Death Box) before joining Stereo Skateboards in 1993, where he became a core team rider alongside Jason Lee and Chris Pastras. He later rode for DC Shoes, New Deal, and Blueprint. Known for his massive, stylish kickflips and frontside flips, he was deported from the US in the late '90s after a visa issue, which led to the famous 'Free Carl Shipman' Stereo board. He now runs his own family business but remains a Stereo team rider.
